Hi again, just a quick call in as I finish the last bit of work for college!! Eeek!!
I showed you my 'reject' bits last time this is what I have finally decided to run with.......
These are the swatches mounted on A1 mountboard..
I decided to keep this one in where I used cling film in the weave....
.....this one had quite a pleasing ripple beginning to happen in the weave,
.....Being silly with dyed locks of blue-faced leicester,
trying to represent the mossy growths in the rock,
...an idea taken from one of my paint sketches looking at the light and dark of the lichens,
...again from another paint study where I used a sponge to draw the
colour out across the paper,
...bands of colour from the grey limestone, the lichens and the moss,
...here I was thinking about the banding of the moss across the top of the stone,
....here I used stencil plastic to emphasize the meander of the weave,
.....and my favourite I think - an all white affair like the white lichens with the
combination weave and natural colours in the warp creating surface texture.
Honestly, if I just get a pass I will be so happy!!!!
Well off to pack the bag for the college week-end now,
wish me luck and the others on the course too - I think we have all had a fight over this project!!
